Each year SOGO hosts a number of fun events for SOGO participants, their family and friends to get out and enjoy the trails and woods in some of the parks around Calgary.
Spook-O 2024

Join us for our annual sppoooooky orienteering event - for all ages at the afternoon and evening of Sunday Oct 27th at Confederation Park.
Spook-O is an orienteering themed Halloween event that will challenge kids of all ages to a spooky, slightly scary adventure running course.Families are very welcome! Please wear your costumes! Spread your love of adventure running (orienteering) by inviting a friend, everyone is welcome! We are always looking for volunteers! If you would like to sign up and help us with our event as either a spooky character, hand out treats, set up decorations, course marshal, we would love to have you! Want more SOGO? Wondering what is SOGO? This is your chance to join us for a fun, low-cost family running event or give our program and activities it a try. We run our SOGO Adventures throughout the year as an opportunity for our Calgary community to come out and see what our program is all about, as well as a chance for our broader community to join us for a session of running and navigation. We will have coaches on site to help and direct families to our courses as well as a short introduction to how to read our maps and navigation.

We are an active program, so we do suggest that parents please come to this event prepared to be out on course with your kids. Families can arrive anytime during event scheduled times and start courses upon arrival, we just ask that you please do not join any later than 1-hour prior to our scheduled finish time. - 60 min filled with adventure games, map reading, navigation, and outdoor fun!
- Supervision and coaching by our SOGO coaches.
- A one-day club associate membership.

FUN RUN (SPRING)
Due to COVID, we haven't hosted the fun run for a few years. We hope to in 2023. Stay tuned!

Different distances are available with fun challenges thrown into the mix. Race distances are approximately 1.5 km and 3.5 km. If your kids like the SOGO stations they will love this Adventure Run! Please stay tuned for our event date, location and information. We will post scheduled events on this webpage, via our SOGO Adventure Running Facebook page and to our General SOGO mailing list.

FOOTHILLS ORIENTEERING CLUB EVENTS (YEAR-ROUND)
In addition to the special SOGO events, all SOGO families are invited to take part in Wednesday night events hosted by our host club, Foothills Orienteering. Participants will need to be either registered with SOGO or purchase a $20 annual Club membership. Wednesday events are beginner friendly and have courses that you can do as a family.

Creekfest
