Spook-O 2026

Spook-O is an orienteering themed Halloween event that will challenge kids of all ages to a spooky, slightly scary adventure running course. Families are very welcome! Please wear your costumes! All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Spread your love of adventure running (orienteering) by inviting a friend, cousin, neighbour or classmate, everyone is welcome! Date: Sunday October 25, 2026 Registration times: There is a 15 min. staggered start time to spread out the runners. Please sign up for one of these start times between 1:00 - 4:00pm

We are always looking for volunteers! If you would like to sign up and help us with our event as either a spooky character, hand out treats, set up decorations, course marshal, we would love to have you! Want more SOGO? Wondering what is SOGO? This is your chance to join us for a fun, low-cost family running event or give our program and activities a try. We run our SOGO Adventures throughout the year as an opportunity for our Calgary community to come out and see what our program is all about, as well as a chance for our broader community to join us for a session of running and navigation. We will have coaches on site to help and direct families to our courses as well as a short introduction to how to read our maps and navigation.

We are an active program, so we do suggest that parents arrive prepared to be out on course with your kids. Families can arrive anytime during event scheduled times and start courses upon arrival, we just ask that you please do not join any later than 1-hour prior to the scheduled finish time. Our Adventures are fun running activities for families with kids of all ages and experience levels and include navigation, speed, agility and endurance activities for kids of all ages. FOOTHILLS ORIENTEERING CLUB EVENTS (YEAR-ROUND)
In addition to the special SOGO events, all SOGO families are invited to take part in Wednesday night events hosted by the club, Foothills Orienteering. Participants will need to be either registered with SOGO or purchase a $20 annual Club membership. Wednesday events are beginner friendly and have courses that you can do as a family.
